What an incredible week, we've packed 1000 units retail ready DVDs in five days. The client needed black text printing, and full colour cover packaged into DVD cases for the Zoomer trade show this weekend.

We've duplicated 1000 discs, printed the covers and cut them at the same time while we did the dupication in three days. Packaging was done in the following two days. Everything was done within 5 days. Delivery was made for Friday morning. The client was also impressed and was happy with our affordable DVD Duplication prices.

DVD Duplication & Replication

DVD copying can be a simple task. You need to have the right software, hardware, and media. In order to copy the data, you will need preferably DVD-R media, a DVD writer, and a software such as Nero.

In Nero, when you start the software, it will start the wizard automatically, select the disc copy. With the data disc inside the DVD drive, Nero will now read the information and save it onto your hard drive. Once its competed, it will ask you to put the empty disc in. Once its placed in, Nero will take that data from the hard drive and write it onto the DVD. Sometimes it may take up to 20 minutes to do one disc depending on the speed and the amount of data that's on the DVD.

As our technology evolves, so do our digital storage medium. We need to find different ways keep our family videos. When you transfer your footage onto DVD, I would keep all of the originals in a dark dry cool place. As decades pass, you would want to transfer them onto updated medium as Film went to VHS then VHS is going to DVD. In a couple more years, DVDs will soon be transferred onto BluRay.

Summary of Video Production

Professional video production, or videography, is the art and service of producing a finished video product to a customer's requirement and consumption.

The video production industry creates videos for a wide range of demands, from safety videos for use in corporate environments to medical training videos for use in teaching. An example of a more everyday application is the wedding video.

A video production company takes a brief, produces a script, liaises with the customer and puts a production team together. This often includes experts ranging from camera staff to make-up artists. The film is shot and initial footage is put on broadcast quality tapes, edited and presented to the customer in a draft — or "guide" — form. Sound tracks, visual effects etc. are added in and the final video is presented to the customer.

With the increasing use of video in a wide range of commercial and government functions, and the increased access modern customers have to viewing video on a range of new devices, video production is a fast growing industry.

Video Transfer Via Computer

Transferring your old VHS, Hi-8, Film to DVD can be a time consuming task especially if you have large amounts of tape that has to be done. Today, you can transfer your tapes with a camcorder with your personal computer. The concept is simple. You will need to take the output signal from the source (VHS player, hi-8 camcorder) and connect it into the input connection from the camcorder that has a firewire connection. The firewire connection will connect to the computer. This will change the analogue signal to digital. You will need an appropriate software such as Adobe Premiere to capture the footage into the computer. For 1 hour of footage it will take up approximately 24 GB capturing in AVI.

Another alternative way is to purchase a DVD Recorder which will capture your video and write it directly onto the DVD.

How to burn make a DVD

This tutorial will show you how to easily burn-make-create-author a DVD. You will need the following software:

Sony DVD Architect

1. Open Sony DVD Arhitect.
2. Drag your movie file into the left hand part of the software where it shows the menu tree
3. You can either keep the menu tree or remove it by right clicking on your mouse and select delete
4. Under the menu tabs, locate "Make DVD" select "burn".
5. Locate the file in which you want to save it to. Select Next.
6. Name your DVD. Burn at 8X. Select your DVD burner. Place a DVD into your DVD writer. Select Finish

Sony DVD arhitect will now prepare the DVD folders video_ts and audio_ts. Once that is completed, the software will automatically burn the files onto the disc. For a full disc at 8X normally takes about 20 minutes. Once the burning is completed, DVD Architect will prompt you. Take out the disc and test it out on a stand alone DVD player.

Wedding planning and preparation tips:

When planning the guest list, remember that you do not need to invite your co-workers. If there is some one that you work with that you are very close to, that is one thing but inviting 100 people from the office is just a waste of your money on the invitations because only the ones that you are close to will come anyway.

* The first step in wedding planning is deciding how much money you are going to spend and make a budget. When planning your wedding budget allow 25% more for extras that you haven't planned for.

* Order the invitations four months in advance. Invitations should be mailed four to six weeks in advance. Take the invitations to the post office to be weighted for sufficient postage.

* On your wedding day bring along an emergency kit with a needle and thread, safety pins, hairpins, hairspray, nail polish and extra pantyhose.

* Start shopping for a wedding dress six months in advance. You will need several fittings before it is perfect.

* Do your hair and makeup before putting on your wedding dress.

* Plan your honeymoon six months in advance. Make all arrangements and reservations well in advance. * If your budget is small, share your joy and happiness with only family and your closest friends.

* When selecting a caterer try to sample their food before hiring them. If it is a restaurant, go there to have dinner before you hire them.

* Invitations should always be addressed by pen, preferably a black fountain pen.

The Wedding Videographer

Wedding videography can trace its roots back to before the advent of the modern video camera through 8mm and 16mm films. Over the decades while film was the only way to capture moving pictures a few enterprising individuals would take out the family 8mm camera and film the weddings of friends and family. These film cameras were limited by their short load times for the film, high cost of processing and the fact the majority of them could not record sound to the film. But there were a few individuals who had turned the documentation of weddings into a business.

1980 saw the introduction of the first consumer camcorders by Sony, with other manufacturers soon following suit. With the introduction of these first camcorders wedding video documentation evolved from something for the rich or celebrity into something for the masses. Early adopters were primarily hobbyists who, at first started recording the weddings of friends and family, then went on to do jobs for pay.

The early days of professional wedding videography was primitive at best. The equipment was generally of low technical quality. Cameras required bright lights, had fuzzy pictures, poor color saturation and mono audio recorded with cheap microphones that didn't reproduce good audio quality. The cameras were bulky with the camera being a separate unit that connected to the video recorder via a cable. Many wedding videos weren't edited in post production and those that were, were primitively edited at best, usually just removing the mistakes. If titles were added you were lucky if they were legible. Generation loss (the copying of a copy, and so forth) was also a major problem with analog video tape. Each time you recorded the video to a new tape, it caused errors to build up and picture and sound to degrade.

From its earliest days and through the 1980s Wedding Videography had a negative reputation of being an interference on the festivities. The bright lights required to produce a quality image were damaging to the mood many brides and grooms wanted to have. As the market expanded, it was flooded by many individuals who had little experience and technical knowledge, which left the consumer with fallen expectations. And the consumer technology that was available to the wedding videographer could not match up with broadcast quality at the time. (more)
